The Reese Adult Day Center serves adults 35 and older in Licking County with aging or disabling conditions who require assistance with medical and personal care needs throughout the day. The program provides an alternative to nursing home placement. Family members are able to maintain employment and their own lives while their loved one remains safe and comfortable in a monitored environment during the day.

A Comfortable Home-like Environment
The Reese Center is a satellite program of United Cerebral Palsy of Central Ohio (UCP). In operation since 2001, the program is Newark's only nationally accredited adult day center. The satellite was established through the generosity of the Gilbert Reese Family foundation and many other organizations, including Licking Memorial Health Systems.Where will my loved one be spending his/her time?
The Reese Adult Day Center is located at 123 South Third Street, Newark, Ohio 43055. The Center offers a variety of areas to enjoy throughout the day. The Reese Adult Day Center offers a gorgeous green space overflowing with colorful flowers and rich greenery for participants to enjoy. The Reese Adult Day Center also has a lovely common area allowing various activities from lunches to art instruction. In 2001, CARF began awarding accreditation for adult day programs. The Reese Adult Day Center received a three year accreditation.

The Guthrie-Hoover Scholarship
The Guthrie-Hoover Scholarship was established by United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) of Central Ohio. The scholarship honors Lori Guthrie, daughter of Marc and Connie Guthrie and Linda Hoover, daughter of John and Betty Hoover. The purpose of the endowment is to grow reserves for operating funds for the Reese Center and the scholarship.
The fund account is with the Licking County Foundation. The fund sponsors an annual scholarship to a Licking County High School Senior with a disability who is planning to attend an institution of higher education. Applications are available at Licking County High School guidance counselor offices. The Reese Advisory Committee chair serves as the chair of the scholarship committee. UCP is proud to assist students with disabilities to continue their education through this effort.
